What bookkeeping covers, and what requires a separate engagement
Included in your bookkeeping plan
- Recording and categorising transactions into the general ledger
- Bank reconciliation against your statements
- Tracking of receivable and payable balances recorded in the books
- Accounting software setup, or work within the file you already use
- Chart of accounts built and maintained
- Periodic management reports based on the bookkeeping records
- Review and correction of issues identified within the agreed bookkeeping period
Quoted and engaged separately
- Financial statement compilation, $350 per year
- Corporate tax computation and filing, $500 per Year of Assessment, covering ECI and Form C-S, C-S Lite or C
- Annual Return filing to ACRA, $200 per filing including the ACRA filing fee
- XBRL financial statements, $250 per filing, where your company is required to file in XBRL format
GST registration and GST return filing are separate from the bookkeeping engagement. If your company is GST-registered, tell us at onboarding so the GST treatment can be reflected correctly in the bookkeeping records.
If you would rather keep bookkeeping, accounts and annual filings under one engagement, see Complete Accounting & Compliance.
Three steps to get started.
We keep onboarding practical: understand the business, collect the source documents and set up the bookkeeping cycle.
01
Tell us about the business
Complete the simple questionnaire or send us an enquiry so we understand your transaction volume, accounting setup and requirements.
02
Send the source documents
Provide the invoices, receipts, bills, payslips and bank statements needed to account for the transactions accurately.
03
We set up and start the bookkeeping
We set up the chart of accounts where needed, review the existing records and begin the agreed bookkeeping cycle.
What your bookkeeper needs from you
Most of these are records you already receive or keep in the ordinary course of business. Digital copies are fine.
- Customer invoices, credit notes and receipts for payments you received
- Supplier bills, expense receipts and software or subscription charges
- Bank statements for every business account, plus credit card and payment gateway statements
- Payroll summaries, CPF records and staff or director expense claims
- Loan and hire purchase agreements, fixed asset purchases and last year's accounts
Scans, exports or a shared folder are all fine. If you already use Xero, we can work in your existing organisation. We will let you know if anything else is needed after reviewing your setup.
Tell us your approximate transaction volume and financial year end. We will confirm the suitable tier and what we need to get started.
Behind on your books?
If your bookkeeping is several months or years behind, we can review the existing records and scope the catch-up work separately. The amount of work depends on what has already been recorded, which periods are incomplete and what source documents are available.
We review what you have first and tell you what is needed to bring the ledger current before the catch-up work begins.
See what already exists
We start with what already exists, such as spreadsheets, an accounting file, receipts and bank statements. We first identify what has already been recorded and which periods still need work.
Identify what is missing
We flag unexplained bank movements, missing supporting documents and periods with incomplete records, then give you a specific list of what we still need.
Reconcile the historical transactions
We work through the historical transactions period by period, matching the bookkeeping records to bank statements and available source documents so the balances are properly supported.
Bring the ledger up to date
Once the historical records are brought up to date, we can move the company onto the normal monthly, quarterly or yearly bookkeeping cycle.
Books that stay useful throughout the year.
Bookkeeping works best as a repeatable cycle: record the transactions, reconcile the balances, review the numbers and carry clean records into the year-end work.
Capture and categorise
We organise transactions and source documents into the correct accounts so your general ledger stays complete and usable.
Reconcile and review
We reconcile the bank activity for the period and investigate missing entries or differences before the books are treated as current.
Review the financial picture
Management reports give you a clearer view of financial performance and help you plan from current figures.
Ready for year-end accounts and tax
Current books make financial-statement compilation and tax computation much cleaner when the financial year closes.
You run the business. We keep the books moving.
Bookkeeping is recurring work that needs consistency. Outsourcing it means you do not have to spend time every month or quarter recording, checking and reconciling transactions yourself.
You still have access to the figures you need, without having to maintain the books personally.
Reliable books support your year-end accounts and filings
Records that explain your transactions
Keep records for at least 5 years
Current books make tax filing easier
Annual filings follow the financial year
Year-end work starts with reliable books.
When the bookkeeping is current, financial-statement compilation and tax computation start from organised records rather than a last-minute reconstruction.
If you also engage us for financial statements and corporate tax, the bookkeeping records stay within the same team for the year-end work.
Frequently asked questions
Our bookkeeping fees are based mainly on the number of transactions and whether the work is done monthly, quarterly or yearly. Choose the relevant frequency above, then the tier that matches your transaction volume.
For pricing purposes, one debit or credit line on a business bank statement counts as one transaction.
No. The bookkeeping plans on this page cover the ongoing accounting records. Financial statement compilation, corporate tax filing, Annual Return filing and XBRL work are separate unless you engage a package that includes them.
We can scope historical catch-up work separately after reviewing the existing records and incomplete periods. Once the books are brought up to date, the company can move onto a normal monthly, quarterly or yearly bookkeeping cycle.
We normally work electronically. You can send scans or exports by email or shared folder, and if you already use Xero we can work in the existing organisation. We will confirm the practical handover during onboarding.
Cloud accounting software stores accounting information online rather than only on one local computer, allowing authorised users to access the records from different locations. We work with Xero.
Yes. Many businesses start by doing their own bookkeeping and outsource it as transaction volume grows. The trade-off is the time required to keep the records accurate and current.
