SSIC 62011 FAQs
What founders ask us about this code. If your question is not here, ask us directly.
Is a SaaS company 62011 or 58202?
SingStat’s definitions don’t use the term SaaS, so it comes down to what your company mainly does. Building software for clients is 62011. Developing your own software and offering it to customers, including online, is publishing it: 58202. Hosting applications or cloud services is 63112, and SingStat’s wording for that code excludes software publishing. If you do more than one, the activity that brings in most of your business is the primary code.
Is web design 62011?
Yes. SingStat lists web design, webpage design and website design services under 62011, along with website and e-commerce website development. Graphic design that does not involve building a site, such as logos or print work, falls under 74192.
What is the difference between 62011 and 62021?
62011 is for writing and maintaining software. 62021 is for planning and designing computer systems that combine hardware, software and communications, often with installation, training and support. A firm that mainly advises on or integrates systems uses 62021, even if it writes some software along the way.
Which code should an AI start-up use?
SingStat lists the development of AI, machine learning and machine vision applications under 62011, so 62011 fits a company building AI software for clients. If you develop and sell your own AI product, 58202 is the closer match.
Can I change my SSIC code later?
