Bizfile is ACRA’s online portal for business registration, corporate filings and business information in Singapore.

Business owners and company officers use it to register entities, file Annual Returns, update company details, appoint or withdraw officers, manage shares and buy documents such as Business Profiles.

The current Bizfile portal launched on 9 December 2024. Most transactions for an existing entity require a Business User login through Corppass, while first-time registrations and personal transactions may use an Individual User login through Singpass.

What is ACRA Bizfile?

Bizfile is the main portal used to register and manage businesses with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority, or ACRA.

It is more than a company search directory. It is where businesses submit many of their official filings, update registered information, respond to pending actions and check the status of transactions.

ACRA replaced the previous BizFile+ system with the current Bizfile portal on 9 December 2024. The new portal uses a dashboard, a navigation menu and entity profiles to help users find the correct eService.

You can access the portal through Bizfile. ACRA also provides current Bizfile guides and tutorials.

What can you do on Bizfile?

Task Examples
Register a business Apply for a business name and register a company, sole proprietorship, partnership, LLP or another supported entity.
File annual submissions File Annual Returns for companies and annual declarations for applicable entity types.
Update entity information Update the registered office, business activities, contact information and other registered particulars.
Manage officers Appoint or withdraw directors, company secretaries and other position holders, and update their information.
Manage shares and shareholders File share allotments, transfers and changes to shareholder information where applicable.
Manage charges and closure matters Register charges, file cessation matters or apply to strike off an entity.
Search and buy business information Search by entity name or UEN and buy Business Profiles, extracts, certificates and other information products.
Check transactions and notices View recent submissions, pending actions, clarification requests and messages from ACRA.

Not every eService applies to every entity. For example, share-related filings apply to companies with share capital, but not to a sole proprietorship.

Should you log in as an Individual User or Business User?

Bizfile has two main login options. Choosing the wrong one may prevent you from seeing the entity or eService you need.

Login type Use it when Login method
Individual User You are acting in your personal capacity, registering a new entity for the first time, buying information, or completing a personal endorsement. Singpass
Business User You are filing for an existing entity with a UEN, acting as an authorised position holder, or filing through a Corporate Service Provider. Corppass, authenticated through Singpass

Registering a new entity for the first time

If the entity does not exist yet and does not have a UEN, log in as an Individual User with Singpass. You can apply for the business name and start the registration from there.

After the entity is registered and receives its Unique Entity Number, the business can set up Corppass for future government transactions.

For company setup requirements beyond the portal itself, see our Singapore company incorporation guide and service.

Filing for an existing entity

For an existing business, log in as a Business User through Corppass. Your Corppass account must have access to the ACRA Bizfile eService.

Having a Corppass account does not always mean that every ACRA service has been assigned to you. If Bizfile shows that you are not authorised, check your assigned eServices or ask the company’s Corppass Admin to grant the required access.

Our guide on what Corppass is and how it is used provides more background. For the current Bizfile access steps, refer to ACRA’s Corppass access guide for Bizfile.

How do you navigate Bizfile?

After logging in, you will usually arrive at the dashboard for the selected entity.

The main areas to check are:

  • Entity profile: Check the entity name and UEN before starting a filing.
  • Navigation menu: Select the relevant eService under registration, managing, annual filing or another category.
  • Pending actions: Review endorsement, clarification, email verification and payment requests.
  • Bizfile inbox: Read notices, transaction updates and requests sent by ACRA.
  • My Transactions: Check recent submissions, purchases and transaction statuses.

Check the selected profile before filing

If you are connected to more than one entity, use “Switch Profile” to select the correct one.

This matters because the eService will use the selected entity’s information. Before entering anything, confirm the entity name and UEN shown on the page.

Do not assume that the first profile shown is the company you intend to file for. This is especially important for directors who hold positions in several companies and users working through a Corporate Service Provider.

Common Bizfile tasks for company owners

Registering a business or company

Bizfile is used to apply for a business name and register a new entity.

The information required depends on the entity type, but a company registration generally covers the proposed name, business activities, registered office, directors, shareholders, share capital and constitution.

Some registrations also require endorsements from the proposed position holders. Check the dashboard and Bizfile inbox after submitting, as the transaction may not proceed until every required endorsement and payment is completed.

Filing an Annual Return

Companies file their Annual Returns through Bizfile. The filing confirms the company’s registered particulars and annual declarations, and may include financial statements where required.

The old rule stating that an Annual Return is generally due within 30 days after the AGM is no longer current. Most private companies now file within 7 months after their FYE. Listed companies generally file within 5 months.

For the requirements and deadlines, read our ACRA Annual Return guide. For the filing process itself, see how to file an Annual Return through Bizfile.

Updating company information

Bizfile is also used to update the company’s registered information. This includes its registered office, business activities and contact details.

Do not wait until the Annual Return to report a change that should have been filed earlier. Many company changes must be lodged within 14 days.

Before submitting, check:

  • The correct entity and UEN
  • The effective date of the change
  • The spelling of names and addresses
  • Whether supporting documents are required
  • Whether another person needs to endorse the transaction

Changing officers, shareholders or shares

Officer and shareholder changes are not all filed through the same eService. Where the company has appointed a filing agent, these transactions may also be handled as part of its company secretary service.

Examples include:

  • Appointing or withdrawing a director or company secretary
  • Updating a position holder’s personal information
  • Allotting new shares
  • Transferring shares
  • Updating shareholder details

Choose the transaction that matches what actually happened. Filing an update to a person’s particulars is different from appointing that person, and a share allotment is different from a share transfer.

Searching for a company or buying a Business Profile

Bizfile’s entity search allows you to look up an entity by name or UEN. Basic information may include its status and registered address.

You can also buy a Business Profile and other ACRA information products. A Business Profile provides registered information about the entity and is commonly used for bank, customer and supplier checks.

Check the entity name and UEN carefully before paying. ACRA does not generally refund an information product simply because the wrong entity was selected.

Where can you find the correct filing guide?

Bizfile contains many eServices, and the screens differ depending on the transaction.

For step-by-step instructions, use ACRA’s Guides and Forms directory. You can filter it by task, such as:

  • Registration
  • Annual filing
  • Updating registers or information
  • Shares and share information
  • Closing or deregistering an entity
  • Navigating Bizfile

Use the guide for the exact transaction you intend to file. Avoid following screenshots from an old article or video, as the portal changed in December 2024 and ACRA continues to update individual eServices.

What should you check before submitting?

  • Confirm that you are logged in under the correct entity profile.
  • Check the entity name and UEN.
  • Select the correct eService for the transaction.
  • Review every pre-filled field instead of assuming it is current.
  • Check names, identification details, addresses and effective dates.
  • Prepare the required resolutions, consents and supporting documents.
  • Check whether another officer or shareholder must endorse the filing.
  • Confirm the filing deadline before starting.
  • Review the declaration before submitting it.
  • Complete the payment and save the acknowledgement and receipt.

What happens after you submit a Bizfile transaction?

Submitting the form is not always the final step.

Bizfile generally requires payment immediately after a payable transaction is submitted. The current portal does not use an “add to cart” system.

Do not treat the filing as completed until you see the payment confirmation or acknowledgement. Download the receipt and note the transaction ID where available.

Some transactions are processed immediately. Others may require:

  • Endorsement by another person
  • A clarification or additional document
  • ACRA’s review
  • A later payment after the required endorsements are completed

Check “Pending Actions”, the Bizfile inbox and “My Transactions” after filing. ACRA sends status updates and required actions to the registered email address, so make sure the email shown in Bizfile is correct and complete any verification request.

Transaction details are generally available in “My Transactions” for 30 days after approval or rejection. Save important confirmations and documents rather than relying on the portal as your permanent filing archive.

Common Bizfile mistakes to avoid

  • Logging in as an Individual User when the transaction requires a Business User profile
  • Using a Corppass account without the required ACRA eService access
  • Filing under the wrong entity profile
  • Selecting the wrong transaction for an officer or share change
  • Assuming pre-filled information is automatically correct
  • Using the Annual Return to report changes that were already overdue
  • Missing an endorsement or clarification request under “Pending Actions”
  • Closing the page before payment is completed
  • Assuming a submission is approved without checking the acknowledgement or status
  • Buying a Business Profile for the wrong entity

Frequently asked questions

What is ACRA Bizfile used for?

Bizfile is used to register and manage business entities, file Annual Returns and other transactions, update registered information, manage officers and shares, and buy ACRA business information.

Is Bizfile the same as ACRA?

No. ACRA is the government authority. Bizfile is ACRA’s online portal for registrations, filings and business information.

Do I log in to Bizfile with Singpass or Corppass?

Use Singpass as an Individual User for personal transactions or a first-time entity registration. Use Corppass as a Business User when filing for an existing entity with a UEN.

Why can’t I see my company after logging in?

Your Corppass account may not have access to the entity or the ACRA Bizfile eService. Check the entity selected in Corppass and ask the Corppass Admin to review your assigned access.

Can I search for a company without logging in?

Yes. Bizfile provides public search functions for entities and other information. Some business information products can also be purchased without logging in.

Does clicking submit mean the transaction is completed?

Not always. A payable transaction must be paid, and some filings also require endorsements or ACRA review. Check the acknowledgement, Bizfile inbox, Pending Actions and My Transactions.

Can I update company details through the Annual Return?

Some information is reviewed during the Annual Return, but changes that were required earlier should be filed through the correct Bizfile transaction when they happen.

Where can I check a Bizfile transaction status?

Log in and open “My Transactions”. You should also check the Bizfile inbox and Pending Actions for notices, endorsements or clarification requests.

Make sure your company is compliant

Your focus should be on your business. Appoint a registered company secretary to handle everything else.
